WHAT IS A 'SOUND BATH'?

Contrary to the the word suggestion, no water is involved in a sound bath :-).

In essence, it is a form of deep meditation involving various sounds including singing bowls and gongs. Encouraging a state of calm, the sound waves and vibrations wash over you to enable your mind and body to relax on a very deep level, often to a meditative state.

The results have been described as a profound state of relaxation and feelings of bliss.  Sound therapy embedded in a sound bath has been used, in part, to address anxiety, depression, physical pain, emotional pain, high blood pressure, chronic stress and sleep deprivation and disorders, and is a beautifully rewarding addition to your self care arsenal.  Now, more than ever, we all need to take more care of ourselves.  How many times have you heard that you need to take care of YOU first? If your cup is empty, how can you give to another?

Have a look at my main Sound Therapy page for more detailed information.

WHAT DO I NEED TO DO?

The beauty is, there is very little you need to do.  We always suggest that before a sound bath you set a clear ‘intention’.  If there is something physically or emotionally causing you pain, or a situation that is causing you stress and anxiety, have your intention firmly in your mind as you lay down to relax into your sound bath.  There can be an intensity that comes with the sound bath experience that can ignite powerful or unexpected reactions for some; sadness, panic or sorrow, for example.  These are typical responses that are buried in the unconscious.  The vibrations and sound can uncover these emotions. Resolving these feelings is to allow them to be uncovered and then to release them.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?

These suggestions are purely for your own comfort, so you may choose to bring some, all, or none of these.  Bear in mind you’ll be lying still for an hour, a hard wooden floor can get a little uncomfortable.

I was lucky enough to participate in a a sound bath that was led by Dan last week and it was amazing. I can highly recommend trying one as its a very relaxing and healing experience, you come away feeling wonderfully balanced and recharged all at the same time. Suitable for everyone as you don't need to do anything apart from lie down and get comfortable. A truly wonderful experience.

Larissa

What an amazing experience! I went into the sound bath feeling pretty sceptical, but had such intense emotions and visuals throughout. I do tend to bottle up my stress, but following this I had a sense of peace and calm that is a real rarity for me. I cannot recommend highly enough! - Thank you Dan!!
